#LoveWhereYouLive Campaign 2020
During the global pandemic, the traditional approach to corporate volunteering had to change.
For DUAL International, this didn’t mean for their colleagues this had to stop all together. Every year, DUAL employees are given 21 hours to make a positive difference in the communities they live and work.
Volunteering gives a healthy, positive boost to all concerned. But in the middle of a global pandemic, those volunteering opportunities had to change to support colleague remote working, wellbeing and social distancing.
As Group CEO Richard Clapham explained “One of the unexpected benefits of lockdown has been more family walks and discovering new places nearby. Sadly though, there seems to be an ever increasing amount of rubbish, especially on the less travelled paths, and I know others have had the same experience. And, of course lockdown has also meant less volunteering opportunities that allow for social distancing. Talking to some of you about these issues, DUAL has a new #LoveWhereYouLive initiative that provides a solution to both. We have teamed up with Helping Hand Environmental, a British independent company, to provide us with high quality DUAL branded sustainable litter pickers”.
#LoveWhereYouLive gave everyone the feeling that you can be part of something bigger. From Dublin to London, Madrid to North America, across Finland and Singapore, over 680 DUAL colleagues and their families took part in a clean-ups to protect and preserve their local areas. And with every post on each bag of litter collected, a charitable donation to DUAL charity partner Seven Clean Seas was sent.
