The Helping Hand Company is the world’s largest designer and manufacturer of sustainable litter picking equipment – hand crafted with love from Herefordshire. The business has a passion and reputation for protecting and preserving the planet.
The new programme which launched during Recycle Now Week will recruit 250 Brand Ambassadors who will be responsible for inspiring the business ‘Local Action – Global Impact ’ campaign to their members and their followers; inspiring over 384,000 people across the world.
Brand Ambassadors will be responsible for inspiring and enabling a culture of sustainability among their local communities – now more than 250 members – as the world moves towards a carbon neutral future.
This group will raise awareness of sustainability by delivering environmental education and community engagement campaigns and motivating others to an adoption of environmentally friendly lifestyles. They will also lead projects and develop initiatives to help reduce litter in their communities and inspire environmental change both at work and home, in school or the community thus enabling and supporting a ‘Local Action – Global Impact’ approach.

Cathy Mears-Martin, Author of Eco Protection Squad said
“I was oblivious for quite a while and it was only when I travelled abroad in 2018 and went to a picturesque scene I spotted lots of litter around. So I picked it up, and then realised the lack of bins in the area. I put the rubbish by one bin I found but it made me think how lucky we were as a country to have a waste system in place. When I returned, I realised that didn’t seem to matter as I couldn’t stop spotting litter everywhere I went. So I started picking it up, and then trying to get friends and family involved. At the same time, I started doing a lot of research about waste and now here I am, writing children’s books!”
Jason Alexander, founder of Rubbish Walks CIC added
“I work tirelessly across the county and beyond raising awareness about the issues of litter, single-use plastics and waste in general. We’re not about quick fixes, the latest gimmick or trying to get as many likes and shares on social media as we can. We’re about tackling the underlying issues, finding practical solutions and working towards meaningful long term change. We’re about tackling mental health issues, living a healthier lifestyle, combating loneliness and working WITH people, businesses and government, not against them. If you want to change the world you can’t just talk the talk, you have to walk the walk too and that’s what we’re all about.”
Helping Hand Environmental Brand Ambassadors Programme inspires greater engagement and collaboration by allowing members to promote their own sustainability services and products.
Lara Bryant VP of Sales & Marketing for Helping Hand Environmental added: “Our aim at Helping Hand Environmental is to encourage and enable as many organisations as possible to create a sustainable future, not just for their own communities but the world as a whole.
“The key to bringing about real change is collective action, driven by passionate people who are game changers in their field and inspire others to make a change. However, in order to act, people need to know where to start and that’s where education is so crucial. Our business and our brand ambassadors will provide the knowledge and direction – together we can share experience, become game changers for our planet and make a global impact”.
