Segregating on street litter is a challenge for any Street Cleansing team.
In Wales, Monmouthshire Council operatives use Street Boss to collect an average of three bags of DMR a day -over 1000 bags of recycled litter a year.
Street Boss is used in parks, town centres and on streets across the borough to collect and segregate general litter versus dry mixed recyclables.
“The Street Boss allows Monmouth to recycle at source which saves the council money as all waste would previously have gone to landfill. It is also a great educational tool for the public who can clearly see we are leading by example and recycling as much litter as possible”.
The council has found Street Boss much safer to use than large heavy barrows as it doesn’t overhang pavements and can be quickly pulled up kerbs.
