Spring is here, and we’ve got lots of news to share. From exciting new products to new team members, a brand new website, and Honour awards!
Our new-look website launched in January, along with a brand new email newsletter which provides exciting information about new products, campaigns, and incentives that you can get involved in, including the #GBSpringClean!
We’re currently taking part in the eighth annual Great British Spring Clean, joining forces with Keep Britain Tidy and the Litter Heroes to make a big difference across the country. If you want to take part, you can download our free litter picking guide here, and find more information on how to pledge on the Keep Britain Tidy website.
Alongside our #GBSpringClean campaign, we’re excited to introduce a new feature on our website – a charity donation page where you can donate big or small amounts of money to selected Environmental and Animal Welfare charities. We’ve chosen to support these charities as we are aware of the effects of littering on our ecosystem and wildlife, and we believe that supporting these charities alongside our litter picking initiatives gives our environment the best chance of recovery.
Last year we said goodbye to our wonderful colleague Lindsay Richmond-Kearns, who left us after 11 years to begin a brand new venture into hospitality (you can read more about her new venture here).
Digital Marketing Officer Larni Williams-Davies stepped up and took over as Marketing Manager. Larni has been running the entire marketing department solo since October, and she’s done an absolutely smashing job. Fortunately, we finally welcomed our long-awaited new Digital Marketing Officer Stacey Perrin in March. Stacey will be assisting Larni with marketing activities, as well as taking over the management of our E-Commerce platform. The team also welcomed Sales Administrator Claire Jellis, and Customer Sales Advisor Meredith Edwards in recent weeks.
Our brand new KIDS Handi Hoop launched in March, the first product of its kind in the world! The smaller 10” size hoop is perfect for kids of all ages, and paired with our kids gloves, hi vis vests and Graptor litter picker, gives the little ones everything they need to safely get involved in litter picking events.
In other product news, you can now purchase our Community Recycled Litter Picker available to buy in bulk – ideal for Local Authorities or volunteer groups!
At the end of 2022 we launched our Brand Ambassador Programme, and our community of ambassadors is growing every day! Our Brand Ambassadors are dedicated to all things environmental, with the goal of preserving our planet by organising and taking part in litter picks, recycling events, and environmental education. If you’d like to become a Helping Hand Brand Ambassador, sign up here!
Finally, we’d like to acknowledge Gavin James, previous Managing Director of The Helping Hand Company. After 50 years at the company, his efforts were recognised in the 2022 New Years Honours List and Gavin was awarded a well-deserved British Empire Medal. As well as being dedicated to Helping Hand, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Gavin wanted to give something back to his local community. He aided with the installation of a new kitchen at Bromsberrow Community Kitchen, and made donations to food banks in Ledbury and Hereford.
We’ve got exciting times ahead talking #sustainability #newproductdevelopment #greenercredentials and #teamhhe
